using dd to clone Solaris disks. basically:
dd if=/dev/rdsk/ of=/dev/rdsk/ bs=8192 
requires that both disks be exactly the same. there should be a way to do something similar with NIS and NFS. what are the issues for the build process that arise because of a broken application installation on the main NFS server?
